Son of Citation Machine |
The first is Son of Citation Machine, aptly named follow-on to the popular Citation Machine. It is targeted to high school and college students, but I've used it with 5th graders too. In addition to MLA, Son of Citation Machine generates citations in APA, Turabian and Chicago styles. It creates both bibliographic and in-text citations that students can copy and paste into their research papers.
This MLA cite generator is very flexible. It handles all kinds of print media, as well as non-print, such as TV, radio, films and web-based resources of all kinds. Among the MLA citation makers I've used, it's one of the few with an ISBN lookup that autofills the required information.
Another nice feature is its toolbar link. Add the link to your browser, to make it easier for students to scour the web for resources. When they come to a page they will use in their research paper, they click on the link and it will autofill the bibliography info from the webpage - great time saver.
